Paper applications no longer required.
About 60,000 property owners in Cook County should use cookcountytreasurer.com to update the name or mailing address on their tax bills, another example of how the internet can make things easier for taxpayers, Treasurer Maria Pappas said today.
The online application replaces thousands of paper forms that the Treasurer’s Office processes each year, Pappas said. “We’ve already eliminated the paper application for most refunds. Now we are changing the most routine request our office receives,” she added.
To help homeowners who have mail-delivery problems, cookcountytreasurer.com shows when tax bills have been returned by the U.S. Postal Service. The Treasurer’s Office has reduced the number of properties with incorrect mailing addresses by nearly a third, to 60,082.
To see if your bills have been returned or to change the name and address on your bill, visit cookcountytreasurer.com and:
- Select the purple box labeled “Your Property Tax Overview”
- Enter your address or Property Index Number (PIN)
- Look for a red warning box that appears if your bills have been returned
- Select “Update Your Information” to change the taxpayer name or mailing address
To avoid the hassle of the mail, select “eBilling” on the website to receive your tax bill by email. Paper name/address change applications will continue to be accepted.
Blue Line Track, Signal Work to Impact Service Near O’Hare
Work requires nine-day suspension of rail service between Rosemont and O’Hare stations; Free bus shuttle service to be provided 24/7
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) today announced plans for a nine-day suspension of Blue Line service between the O’Hare and Rosemont stations on the Blue Line later this month. This extended line-cut will allow crews to safely and more efficiently perform critical and complex track and signal work planned as part of Your New Blue—a multi-year capital improvement project that will provide Blue Line riders with faster, smoother and more reliable service along the O’Hare branch.
Beginning 10 p.m. Friday, September 27 through 4 a.m. Monday, October 7, trains will not run between the Rosemont and O’Hare stations. To accommodate riders, CTA will operate a free bus shuttle between the Rosemont Station and O’Hare International Airport Bus/Shuttle Center. The Bus Shuttle Center is located above the O’Hare Blue Line Station, between Terminals 1, 2, and 3. For connections to Terminal 5, riders should board the O’Hare shuttle bus in Terminals 1, 2, or 3 (Airport Shuttle route map).
The free shuttle buses will operate every 3-5 minutes during the day on weekdays and weekends, and up to every 10 minutes during the overnight hours.
Customers are strongly recommended to allow at least an extra 20-30 minutes of travel time during daytime hours and a little longer during late evening and overnight hours. Customers should also use CTA Train Tracker for real-time travel information. Customers can also subscribe to CTA alerts for the Blue Line at transitchicago.com/updates.
Despite the additional travel time, the Blue Line remains the most affordable, most reliable way get to and from O’Hare Airport. Blue Line trains will continue to operate normally between Rosemont and Forest Park, via downtown.
This temporary service impact is the first of two extended line-cuts planned as part of a $207 million Your New Blue project to upgrade the nearly 40-year old signal system, which was announced in May. A second line-cut will occur next year, at a date to be determined.
The $492 million Your New Blue initiative, one of the largest projects in CTA history, includes track and infrastructure improvements, station upgrades, subway improvements, signal upgrades and power upgrades along the O’Hare Branch of the Blue Line. This signal work follows a number of other projects that are either completed or underway as part of the historic Your New Blue program, which was announced in 2013. Other projects include the modernization of 14 rail stations, of which nine are complete, as well as track renewal and infrastructure work.

To help ease automobile access marathon morning during street closures the little strip of inner Lake Shore Dr. in front of 3180 that is normally one-way southbound will become a two-way street under Chicago Police supervision.
This will allow drivers east of Sheridan to get on outer Lake Shore Drive at Belmont all morning and will allow Presence Saint Joseph Hospital staff easy egress.

2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
On Sunday, October 13th, the 42nd annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon will welcome 45,000 participants to the City of Chicago. Each year, we proudly invite participants, volunteers and spectators to celebrate the Chicago Marathon which starts and finishes in historic Grant Park and travels through the downtown streets of Chicago.
Running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is the pinnacle of achievement for elite athletes and everyday runners alike. On race day, runners from all 50 states and more than 100 countries will set out to accomplish a personal dream by reaching the finish line in Grant Park.

MedMar Lakeview Relocation to be Discussed at Upcoming Community Meetings
MedMar Lakeview is proposing to relocate its medical cannabis dispensary from 3812 N. Clark St., where it has operated for nearly three years, three blocks south, to 3524 N. Clark St. As the Illinois Medical Cannabis Patient Program has grown, so has the number of qualifying patients. The space at 3812 N. Clark St. will not be able to accommodate the influx of new patients expected in the coming months, as the list of qualifying conditions is expanded to include migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, autism, chronic pain, and others. The sole purpose of this proposed relocation is to serve these additional patients with the same level of care that patients have come to expect from MedMar Lakeview.
The relocation will not change MedMar Lakeview’s daily operations. The new location will allow for more patients to visit on a daily basis, easier patient flow due to the increased number of checkout systems and provide a larger waiting area. The relocation will also eliminate the possibility of patients waiting and queuing outside to get their medicine, and allow for more patients to take public transportation due to its proximity to the train and bus. This relocation is intended to serve a growing market of qualifying patients without causing undue stress on the neighborhood or any patients looking for relief. This relocation will not only serve patients better, but it will also serve the neighborhood better with updated security and streamlined operations for more efficient and secure dispensing.
MedMar Lakeview has been a model neighbor during its time at 3812 N. Clark and intends to continue its practices of neighborhood and city philanthropy at 3524 N. Clark, working with the Howard Brown Center to support Northalsted Market Days and participating in neighborhood initiatives and events like the Pride Parade. The 3812 N. Clark St. location has never had any complaints from neighbors, security issues, or difficulties with its zoning in the 44th Ward to its knowledge during its tenure and intends to continue that record of compliance and neighborly practices. The security measures, including surveillance and diversion prevention are already excellent at MedMar Lakeview, and the relocation would only heighten those security measures in both procedure and technology. Additionally, MedMar Lakeview will continue its strict grounds keeping procedures, including patrolling for graffiti and reporting any incidences to its neighbors.
MedMar Lakeview is asking the residents of the 44th Ward for their approval in this move. The relocation will allow MedMar Lakeview to better serve its patients with better ADA-accessibility and upgraded security measures to ensure the safety of the residents of the 44th Ward. In its relocation, MedMar Lakeview will go above and beyond to fit into the makeup of the neighborhood and understands the importance of the culture of the 44th Ward to the greater community of Chicago. MedMar Lakeview looks forward to continuing its relationship with the neighborhood as the cannabis industry and the neighborhood grow.
At this time we are not entertaining a recreational cannabis license for this space – the City has yet to determine the course of action for those licenses. If there is a request for recreational cannabis at this, or any other location in the 44th Ward, we will re-engage the community for that discussion.
