A development project has been proposed at 2814 N. Halsted Street that includes a request for a zoning change from B3-2 to B3-3 to accommodate a mixed-use building. The proposal preserves the existing first-floor commercial façade and adds three stories of residential space, resulting in a 57-foot-tall structure with 12 two-bedroom/two-bathroom units. The first floor will maintain three commercial spaces, while the rear will feature six parking spaces and bike racks for residents, both enclosed within a security fence.
