What to Expect as Concert Setup/Takedown Takes Place

  • Trucks, Crane(s), Forklift(s), etc. will beginning lining up on Waveland beginning July 19th and proceed to Sheffield where they will be unloaded and move materials into the Ballpark.

 

  • Trucks will be traveling from Irving Park between Clark and Sheffield and the Camry (Green Lot) at Grace and Racine to the ballpark during both setup and takedown.
  • Wrigley Field will be transformed into a concert venue with the installation of staging, sound and lighting equipment. Seating areas will be added to field.

 

  • The Lights at Wrigley Field will be on throughout the week as the Concert Setup/Takedown takes place.

 

Lights may be on OVERNIGHT July 19th through July 24th

Sound Checks

Sound checks should be anticipated on July 22nd and July 23rd

Limo and Taxi Information

  •  In an effort to minimize the impact of traffic in the community around Wrigley Field, the 44th Ward, the Chicago Police Department, OEMC and the Chicago Department of Transportation have established the following pickup/outbound regulations for Taxis, limousines, and car services for the concerts:
  • Ride Share Drop off/Pick up designations are located at:
    • From North:  Irving Park Rd. between Clark St. and Seminary Av.
    • From South:  Clark St. (west side of the 3300 block) , south of Roscoe St., facing southbound

Concert Day Highlights

Chris Stapleton Concert Saturday July 23rd

Gates Open at 4:00pm and the shows begins at 5:30pm and will end no later than 11pm

  • Residential Permit Parking will be in effect. Vehicles parked in violation of the Residential Permit Parking regulations are subject to ticket.  It is illegal for any person or organization, to offer for sale, expose for sale or acquire for the purpose of sale any residential daily parking permit. In addition, it is illegal to purchase any daily parking permit from anyone other than City Clerk or an authorized agent of the Clerk. This includes posting permits for sale on websites or offering permits in conjunction with event tickets. Violators are subject to a fine of up to $1500 and the City Clerk has the authority to ban residents from purchasing residential daily parking permits.
  • Priority Towing will take place in all special areas designated as No Parking
  • Vehicles parking in violation of parking regulations resulting in a public hazard, such as Bus Stops No Parking/Tow Zones, crosswalks, driveways, alleys, etc. will be strictly enforced and are subject to Ticket and Tow.
  • Residents are encouraged to contact the Night Game Hotline (1-866-427-3869) to report quality of life issues requiring POLICE ATTENTION. Please call 911 in cases of emergency.
  • General complaints regarding the concert should be directed to the Chicago Cubs at 773-404-CUBS or via email neighbors@cubs.com.
  • During Pre & Post Concerts, at the discretion of the Police and/or OEMC, Clark between Grace and Sheffield and Addison between Racine and Halsted may be closed to vehicular traffic as a Public Safety measure. Traffic will then be rerouted North/South on Racine and Halsted. While this may be inconvenient, public safety is of the utmost importance.
  • Parking is available at the remote lot, located at 3900 N. Rockwell, with a free shuttle to the concerts. The remote lot will be open 3 hours prior to each concert.
  • General Admission Ticket holders will lineup on the north side of Waveland, east of Sheffield. Additional security has been implemented by the Cubs for GA line management.
  • Gallagher Way will host a pre-concert band beginning at approximately 4pm.
  • “Hospitality Teams” an independent third party hired by the Chicago Cubs will be throughout the neighborhood. The team aims to provide a visible presence in the community.
  • “Cleaning Teams” deployed by the Chicago Cubs will be throughout the neighborhood daily.
  • TAILGAITING AND ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION ON THE PUBLIC WAY ARE PROHIBITED AND WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

LOITERING WILL NOT BE PERMITTED ON ANY STREETS SURROUNDING WRIGLEY FIELD INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO; CLARK, ADDISON, WAVELAND AND SHEFFIELD.

2022-2024 E-Scooter Pilot Program

2022 – 2024 E-Scooter Program Overview

Participants: Four companies will be permitted to operate within the city – Divvy (includes Lyft brand), Spin, Lime, and Superpedestrian. Superpedestrian and Lime have not received permits to begin operations as of June 16th.
 
Boundaries: Divvy will restrict the operation of its scooters to the central business district (bordered by Pershing, Damen, Armitage, and Lakeshore Drive) while the three other operators will be able to operate citywide with the exception of restricted areas. Scooters will be NOT be allowed on the Riverwalk, Lakefront Trail, the 606, or at Navy Pier. For the first two months, Spin; Lime; and Superpedestrian may not operate in the Downtown Area. 
# of Scooters: 4,000 in total, each company will provide up to 1,000 scooters. Spin and Divvy, for instance, have started with 500 scooters in their initial launches with plans to scale up gradually to 1000 throughout the summer.
Rental Price: $1 to unlock and $0.39 per minute after unlock. Automatic 50% discounts are offered to riders in equity areas on the South/West sides (Divvy prices for non-members, each company varies in its per minute price)
Docking/Locking: Divvy will offer riders the ability to dock Divvy branded scooters in Divvy docking stations within their operations area. Spin, Lime, and Superpedestrian scooters will not have a docking option, these scooters will be required to be locked upright to fixed structures along the sidewalk using built-in bluetooth cables. Divvy branded scooters may also be parked using this option for an additional fee. Parked scooters may not block fire hydrants, bus stops, loading zones, or building entry ways, they may also not be parked in front of building facades or along private fences. Appropriate fixed objects for parking include retired street meters, street sign poles, street lights, or bike racks.  Riders must park scooters in the public right of way leaving 5ft of space open for pedestrians using the sidewalk. Scooters can NOT be parked within 10 feet of corners or intersections.
Speed Limit: 15mph, 10mph for a rider’s first trip.
Riding Area: Scooters must be operated in the street, they may not be operated on the sidewalk.
Hours of Operation: 5:00am – midnight.
 

Reporting Issues: All members of the public may report scooter parking issues over 311. Companies have 2 hours to remedy any parking issues, after 2 hours, the city staff from Streets and Sanitation Department may remove the scooter as deemed fit.
