CPS School Budget Funding Workshops

January 15, 2020

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is kicking off 2020 by hosting six school budget funding workshops throughout the city with the hopes of gathering feedback from community members on potential opportunities to strengthen school budgeting. These workshops will provide community members & organizations, plus LSC’s, CAC’s and all interested stakeholders with an overview of CPS’ current funding methodologies and other aspects of the FY2020 budget. Attendees will also be able to share the needs of their school community and offer suggestions on how to make the district’s school funding process more equitable, transparent, and sustainable.

Below is a list of the full calendar of events

To learn more about our budget, such as where our money comes from and how we distribute and spend our dollars, we encourage you to review our 2020 Resident’s Guide to the Budget and our FY2020 budget on https://cps.edu/budget  for a comprehensive overview of the district’s budget. Community and stakeholder voice is key to ensuring our school budget methodology is rooted in equity, stability, and sustainability.
