Sheffield & Waveland Crane Lifts

There will be two crane lifts at Sheffield & Waveland on Friday, May 24th between 9am and 4pm. The first lift, on Sheffield Avenue between Addison and Waveland, will result in a partial closure where two-way traffic will be maintained with a flagger. The second lift, on Waveland Avenue between Kenmore and Sheffield, will result in a full closure.

WOOGMS Parade Celebrate 50 Years

The Wellington-Oakdale Old Glory Marching Society's (WOOGMS) Parade will fill the streets of the Lakeview community on Monday, May 27th, marking its' 50th year! All are invited to march in this favorite neighborhood event that attracts participants of all ages, upholding the WOOGMS motto "Everybody Marches, Nobody (just) Watches!" Marchers step off at 11:00am at Pine Grove and Wellington and travel seven blocks to the front lawn of St. Joseph Hospital (2900 N. Lake Shore Drive). Along with candy and treats for the marchers, entertainment at the hospital will include acrobatic feats by the Jesse White Tumblers.

August Deadline for Homeowners to Make Energy Efficiency Improvements for Rebate

Homeowners looking to save money on their monthly energy bills and increase the comfort of their homes are in luck. Energy Impact Illinois, a program partnership of local government, utility companies and non-profit groups, has extended rebates and loans available to homeowners who complete energy efficiency home improvements by August 2013. Homeowners are encouraged to sign up for the program as soon as possible, to allow for time to complete improvements before the August deadline.

Cubs Charities Race to Wrigley 5k on Saturday, May 11 at 8AM

Please be advised that the Cubs Charities Race to Wrigley will take place this Saturday, May 11 beginning at 8:00am at Wrigley Field. The course runs through the neighborhood and ends back at the ballpark.

No Parking will be in effect on affected streets from 4:00am until 12:00pm.

The streets will be closed beginning at 7:45am. After the runners pass through, walkers will be moved to the sidewalks and streets will be reopened to traffic. The course route and timeline are below.
