Restore the Canopy: Free Trees for Residents of the 44th Ward!

Posted: 4/28/2017

Our office is pleased to partner with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District to distribute free oak saplings to 44th Ward residents.  The sapplings (which come in plastic pots) can be picked up at 3223 N. Sheffield, Monday-Thursdays 8am-6pm, Fridays 8am-5pm, and Saturdays 8am-12pm.

The trees are compliments of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, who launched a program in 2016 in an effort to aid in managing storm water and to educate communities and schools on the value of the tree canopy that has been depleted over the last century.

The saplings are currently 18 inches high. Planting and care instructions, along with additional information regarding the benefits of trees, will be provided.
