Pride Parade

 Sunday, June 25 at Noon

Parade begins at Broadway and Montrose

2017 improvements include:

·        A security team of 160 (up from 90 in 2015) off-duty security and police officers supplied by the parade organizers will be in place to supplement the Chicago Police Department's presence along and surrounding the parade route before, during, and after the parade. Additionally, the Chicago Police Department has indicated additional resources will be deployed to the areas in and around the parade route.

·        A zero-tolerance policy for alcohol along the parade route. It will be strictly enforced in accordance with a City of Chicago ordinance which includes fines up to $1,000 for open containers along parade routes.

·        Checkpoints will be in place along the parade route to closely monitor open container laws.

·        Strict enforcement of bar occupancy rules and overconsumption by patrons.

·         Parade entries have been limited to 150 entries (down from 160 in 2016) to reduce the length of the parade.

·        Most 4:00AM bars in Lakeview have voluntarily agreed to close at 2:00AM to help end the night earlier.

·        Increased resources for cleanup after the parade.

We encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly and help "Keep Pride Proud." Let's all work together to ensure that the Pride Parade is a positive reflection of the LGBT community, our neighborhood and the city of Chicago.

THE PARADE ROUTE:
Step off from the Broadway/Montrose corner, proceeding south on Broadway; then south on Halsted; then east on Belmont; then south on Broadway; then east on Diversey to Cannon Drive. Cross streets will close as the parade travels south down the route.
