Lake Shore Drive Resurfacing

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) will begin resurfacing Lake Shore Drive between Sheridan Road and Foster Avenue and between Belmont Avenue and North Avenue beginning on Wednesday, September 5th and will be completed by the first week of November.

Drivers should expect some delays due to the work that will be occurring at various times, both day and night.  At least two travel lanes will be open at all times in both directions.  There will be no lane obstructions during rush hour peaks - neither in the southbound direction between 6:00am - 10:00am or in the northbound direction between 3:00pm -7:00pm.  All four lanes in each direction will be resurfaced - a total of 2.75 miles of roadway.
