The 29th annual Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival will again kick off Chicago's outdoor street fest season over Memorial Day Weekend.
Located just steps from the busy Belmont Red Line "El" stop, this popular street party in the heart of Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood will again showcase the region's favorite tribute bands. This iconic fest (sponsored by the Central Lakeview Merchants Association) also features plenty of food and libations as well as artisans who will be rolling out their Summer 2012 lines of creative handiwork.

WOOGMS Memorial Day Parade

Step Off: Pine Grove and Wellington
The Wellington-Oakdale Old Glory Marching Society (WOOGMS) marchers will fill the streets of the Lakeview community for this year's Memorial Day Parade. All are invited to march in this neighborhood event that attracts patriotic participants of all ages, upholding the motto "Everybody Marches, Nobody (just) Watches." The parade will travel through the neighborhood and conclude seven blocks later at the front lawn of St. Joseph Hospital (2900 N. Lake Shore Drive). Along with candy and other treats for the marchers, entertainment at the hospital will include acrobatic feats by the Jesse White Tumblers.
Route: North on Pine Grove to Barry, East to Sheridan, South to Diversey, and East to Lake Shore Drive.

Chicago Cubs and Illinois Heart Rescue Hit a Home Run to Save Lives

On June 10th, 2013 the Chicago Cubs and Illinois Heart Rescue invite you to Wrigley Field before our Chicago Cubs play the Cincinnati Reds. You can learn how to do Hands-Only CPR in the Purple Lot from 4-7pm. It takes just 15 MINUTES to learn how to save a life.
Participants will learn to save a life, receive a free t-shirt, and be entered into a raffle for Chicago Cubs jerseys, game tickets, and baseballs.

The City Clerk's Office will be selling 2013-2014 City of Chicago Vehicle Stickers/ Residential Parking Permits in my service office on Tuesday, June 25 from 12-6pm.
This convenient service provides an opportunity for residents to conveniently purchase their 2013-2014 City Sticker/Residential Parking Permit in the neighborhood, thus avoiding long lines at the City Clerk's Office or waiting for the stickers to come in the mail.
Please bring:
1. Pre-Printed Renewal Form
2. Photo Identification
3. Vehicles Registration***New Mandatory Requirement
4. If you photo Id does not have your current address, please bring a current lease or utility bill
5. Credit Card or Check payment (payable to City Clerk)
Due to the high volume and processing requirement, the City Clerk's office requests that residents arrive by 5:00pm (one hour before closing). The line will be closed promptly at 5:00pm.

A portion of the proceeds benefit SNA's Granting Program which donates funds to community concerns. In the last three years SNA has donated over $20,000.00 to Blaine School to support its plans for the west campus playground reconstruction.
