CTA Update

As many of you already know, there are some big changes coming our way for the CTA. Both of them are results of the big Brown Line Rehabilitation Project that is currently underway and will continue until the end of 2009.

The Southport Station closed in April of 2007 and Diversey is set to close June 25, 2007 for about a year. Then after that, the Wellington and Paulina stations would close for about a year. These four stations make up the last station package that went out to bid.

The second, and much more impactful issue, is the the 3-Track portion of the project that also began in April 2007. This means that at Belmont and Fullerton, the trains are using 3-tracks instead of 4 tracks as the major construction occurs at these two stations. This has been heavily publicized, so hopefully you've heard something about it.
