Would you like to help our environment?
Recycle!
If your garbage is picked up by the city's
Streets and Sanitation Department, you can participate in
Chicago's Blue Cart Program
(if you live in a building where your garbage is picked
up by a private company, contact your provider to find out
about recycling options).
This new and exciting program is extremely easy: materials no longer need to be sorted in blue bags. All material to be recycled can go directly into the Blue Cart. Blue Carts will have separate pickup from normal garbage collection, and will be sorted on-site.
The 44th Ward will be receiving the Blue Cart Program beginning May 19, 2008. Pickup of the Blue Carts will be every other week, thus beginning in June.
